About Holistic Nutrition

Holistic Nutrition considers the individual as a whole and uses food and lifestyle management as well as necessary supplements to correct imbalances and create a state of well being. Emphasis is placed on environment, emotions, values, and physical symptoms. Through facilitated wellness counselling, individuals learn to live a healthier and more fulfilled life while choosing healthy and nutrition dense food to maintain optimal health. Proper nutrition combined with a healthy lifestyle can improve many issues, increase your state of wellness and reduce unwanted conditions you may be experiencing.

In holistic nutrition it is believed that we need a certain balance of protein, vitamins, and other nutrients to help our bodies reach maximum energy levels and overall physical and emotional health. It is also believed that each individual is different and requires different amounts of these proteins, vitamins, and nutrients to make that particular individual healthy. Holistic Nutritionists recommend protocols which include Diet, Lifestyle and Supplements (which may also include herbs) that match each individual’s health and nutritional needs.

A nutritionist can help to:

– correct imbalances
– assist with weight loss/ weight gain
– increase vitality
– rejuvenate energy
– help you to better manage pain and inflammation
– increase immunity
– manage food allergies and sensitivities

They can also help to educate people about whole foods, natural and organic foods, take grocery store tours and do kitchen cupboard makeovers.

You’re never too young or too old to start seeing a nutritionist, and it’s never too late. Your quality of life can improve from one day to the next. Nutritionists can work along side your physician to help improve your health and well being. They can also work with Naturopaths, Massage Therapists, Physiotherapists, Psychotherapists, Personal Trainers, and many other professionals to help create a whole approach to your over all health. Ultimately seeing a nutritionist is an investment into your future, one that can improve your quality of life for years to come.
